Serotonin

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that acts in the brain. It is manufactured by neurons from an amino acid, tryptophan. It acts on the central nervous system, particularly in the regulation of certain behaviours such as mood or emotion. It is also said to have an effect on sleep, sexual and eating disorders. It is also called the “happiness hormone”.
