LH – luteinising hormone – is a hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland that affects the (ovarian cycle). It targets the (gonads). At its peak, LH triggers (ovulation). It also helps to secrete (oestrogen) and (progesterone) through the (corpus luteum) after (ovulation). In men, it plays a role in the secretion of testosterone.
