Ovarian follicles

Ovarian follicles are located in the ovaries and are the structure where the (oocytes) that will become (eggs) develop. From puberty onwards, at the beginning of each menstrual cycle, under the influence of a hormone – FSH – a follicle grows and then releases an egg upon ovulation. After ovulation, the follicle becomes known as the corpus luteum.
