Dysthyroidism

Dysthyroidism is the malfunctioning of the thyroid gland. The thyroid secretes several hormones that affect the metabolism. These hormones can be secreted in excess, which is known as hyperthyroidism, and conversely, when the thyroid fails to secrete enough hormones, it is known as hypothyroidism.
